ISB 2010 MBA Application Essays

ISB's application gets shorter and simpler by the years... this year the applicants face just 2 requisite essays and an optional one. Gone are the days when applicants had to make decisions regarding building dams and accepting knighthoods. All you have to do now is simply and directly state why you should be selected to the MBA class through two answers - 1) by pointing how you are unique (personally, professionally, socially) and how these differences could add value to the ISB class 2) by stating your goals clearly yet concisely (you just have 300 words) and describing how the ISB program would lead you to this future.

Essay 1: If we were to admit one more student to the class of 2012, make a compelling argument as to why that student should be you? (300 words max)

Essay 2: What are your short term and long term goals? How will the ISB help you achieve the same? (300 words max)

Essay 3 (Optional): Please provide additional information, that will significantly affect the consideration of your application to the ISB. (300 words max)

Reapplicant Essay: How has your profile changed from the time you last applied to the ISB? (300 words max)

Scholarship Essay: Why do you think that the ISB Scholarship Committee should consider you for scholarship? (300 words max) Optional

Application Deadline (Cycle 1): 30 Aug 2010; (Cycle 2): 30 Nov 2010; (International Applicants): 15 Jan 2011 (rolling admission)

ISB 2009 Essays

Essay 1: Give 3 reasons as to why you should be selected to the class of 2011. These reasons should ideally differentiate you from the applicant pool and should be backed with some data. (300 words max)

Essay 2: Describe a challenging assignment you have handled (at work or outside) to date. What were the challenges and how did you handle them. What were the personal learnings you derived from this assignment. (300 words max)

Essay 3: Briefly assess your career progression till date along with your assessment of your future career goals. Discuss how your career goals will be met by the ISB’s one year program. (300 words max)

Essay 4: Please provide additional information, if any, that will significantly affect the consideration of your application to the ISB. Please do not repeat information which has already been stated elsewhere in the application. You may use this to clarify any breaks in education/work, inform about any other item which you think has not been covered elsewhere etc. (300 words max) Optional

Essay 5: Why do you think that the ISB Scholarship Committee should consider you for scholarship?  (300 words max)
