Essay 1. What are the key issues facing organisations in your sector over the next three years? What course of action would you recommend to such organisations? (300 words)

Essay 2. What did you learn from your most spectacular failure? (200 words)

Essay 3. What are your short and long term career objectives? What skills/characteristics do you already have that will help you to achieve them? What do you hope to gain from the degree and how do you feel it will help you achieve the career objectives you have? (500 words)

Cambridge Judge MBA 2010-2011 Application Essays

We learn a lot about you as a person through your essays, so please be as thoughtful and candid as possible in your writing – share with us your influences, passions, values and aspirations! We are also looking for your essays to be clearly written, succinct and engaging; it is worth spending some time preparing.

Your essays should be written on separate sheets of paper (A4 or Letter size), and sent to us with the application form (we require five copies of each essay). You should put your name, the question you are answering and the page number at the top of each page. Essays should be typed and double-spaced.

Essay A. Describe yourself. What are your strengths and how do you utilise them? What attributes would you like to improve upon and why? (up to 400 words)

Essay B. Describe the worst team experience you have ever had. What did you do? (up to 400 words)

Essay C. Either: In which place have you felt most inspired and why? Or: If you only had twenty-four hours to live, how would you spend them? (up to 300 words)

Career Objectives Questions:

A. Describe your career progression to date. What have been the key mile stones and/or turning points? What decisions and choices brought you to your current role? (Please do not exceed 300 words)

B. What is your immediate post MBA career objective (role, industry, location, responsibilities)? What skills and experience do you have that will help you achieve it? How will the Cambridge MBA contribute to your attainment of your goals? (Please do not exceed 300 words)

C. What is your long term career vision and how will an MBA help you to achieve it? (Please do not exceed 150 words)
